Program Format & Schedule

The Master of Arts in Health and Wellness Coaching is usually completed in two years (six trimesters) and is delivered in three flexible formats to accommodate a variety of students’ schedules: online, on campus, and hybrid. Students may choose a different scheduling option under academic advisement, depending on course availability, to shorten or lengthen their time in the program.

Format options vary by area of concentration:

  • Herbal Studies Concentration: Online and Hybrid
  • Integrative Health Practices Concentration: Online and Hybrid
  • Nutrition Concentration: Online, On Campus, and Hybrid

Online Format

Students who complete the program online will be eligible for ICHWC certification as a nationally-certified health and wellness coach, however they will not be eligible for ICF certification. Read more here.

On Campus Format

All coursework is completed on campus in this format. On campus courses are delivered over weekends to accommodate students with weekday commitments and those who travel to attend the program. Only the Master of Arts in Health and Wellness Coaching with an area of concentration in Nutrition may be completed entirely in this format. 

Students who complete the program on campus will be eligible for ICHWC certification as a nationally-certified health and wellness coach and for ICF certification for 60 to 200 hours. Read more here.

Program Schedule

Class times are 5 – 9 p.m. on Fridays and between 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays. Class dates are subject to change.

*Please note that this reflects a FULLY on-campus load for Trimester 1.  Please contact the Admissions team if you intend to pursue ICF credentialing and would like to take courses online in your first trimester.

Hybrid Format

Coursework is completed through a combination of online and on campus courses in this format. All students may choose to take courses in the core coaching curriculum either online or on campus, subject to availability. 

Students choosing an area of concentration in herbal studies, or integrative health practices will complete the remainder of their courses online. Students choosing an area of concentration in nutrition may complete the remainder of their courses either online or on campus.

Students who complete this program through a combination of online and on campus courses will be eligible for ICHWC certification as a nationally-certified health and wellness coach. They will also be eligible for ICF certification through the completion of a 60-hour approved program ONLY if they complete COA 620 on campus and COA 610 online. Read more here.
